Description
This wooden car is powered by an elastic band. When the potential energy of the stretched elastic is converted into kinetic energy of motion, the car will travel about three meters (10 feet). Students can experiment by varying the method of winding the elastic, the number of turns, and the type of surface used. It is easy to assemble. Wood glue not included. The car measures 6.375" long, 1.5" high by 2.75" wide in the front, and 2" high by 3.125" wide in the back. Test your wooden car with yet another variable! The Washers for Wooden Car Kit enable your students to tackle "weightier" experiments. Pack of 8.

This product will support your students' understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), as shown in the table below.Elementary | Middle School | High School | ||
4-PS3-4 Using this car, students can apply scientific ideas to design, test, and redefine a device that converts energy from one form to another. | MS-PS3-2 MS-PS3-4 MS-PS3-5 Using this car, students can develop an investigation and model to describe that when the arrangement of objects interacting at a distance change, different amounts of potential energy are stored in the system. | HS-PS3-3 Students can use this car to design, build, and redefine a devise that works with given constraints to convert one form of energy into another form of energy. |
