Your students will have a blast building their own Stomp Rockets and launching them outside for hands-on experiments related to Newton's laws, energy transfer, aerodynamics, and more variables than we can name! Our Articulating Stomp Rocket launch pad is built from durable components that will provide years of service. Includes 11 distance marker flags, a protractor, directions for downloading step-by-step assembly instructions, a rocket template, teaching lessons, and student worksheets. Can be modified for use in K-12 classes. Plastic soda bottle not included.

One stomp rocket kit was not enough so I needed to get another one. Kids can do so much analyzing with bottle size, angle of flight, etc. My students really get into this activity!!

Suggested Science Idea(s)

Students will get a blast out of building and launching rockets from the Articulating Stomp Rocket launch pad. A large indoor space with high ceilings such as the gymnasium or lunchroom is a good starting point for novice fliers.

The articulating launch pad uses a burst of air to propel the rocket. Allow students to design and manipulate variables in their rocket construction, amount of force (change the size of the bottle) and the angle of the launch rod to explore many facets of flight, force, and motion.

Encourage students to utilize mathematical equations in their investigations for flight and landing proximity. Set up the distance flags or targets in a field for criteria based hands-on learning.

Challenge students to research current space programs and then come up with their own real-world problems that need engineering solutions. Facilitate lab opportunities so students can break down the facets of rocket launch, flight, and recovery to embark on their own successful Stomp Rocket missions.
