Description

Squeeze a flat balloon and watch it self-inflate! Challenge students to offer an explanation. Ask your students to construct their own self-inflating balloon using water and baking powder, or vinegar and baking soda! Four self-inflating Mylar balloons are included. 14.5 cm flat dia. (5.75") Note: Inflated balloons are not lighter than air.

My students love these when we discuss chemical reactions. Super easy to use and very visually stimulating for my kiddos!

Not a great product

Educational Innovations has great products-this is not one of them. I bought a bunch of these a few years ago. The liquid has drained out of the small pouches (they appeared sealed), they don't inflate well, the stuff inside globed together. Not pleased with the quality of the product or its' life span.

Very good quality product, very good when you want to mount a party fast (especially for small children) without having to manually inflate a bunch of balloons. The only thing missing is that the content was something that would rise to the balloons. Microsoft Translator

3-5-ETS1-3

Students can use Self-Inflating Balloons to plan and carry out fair tests in which variables are controlled and failure points are considered to identify aspects of a model or prototype that can be improved.

MS-PS1-2

Using the Self-Inflating Balloons, students can to analyze and interpret data on the properties of substances before and after the substances interact to determine if a chemical reaction has occurred.

MS-ETS-3

Students can use Self-Inflating Balloons to analyze data from tests to determine similarities and differences among several design solutions to identify the best characteristics of each that can be combined into a new solution to better meet the criteria for success.

HS-PS1-2

Using the Self-Inflating Balloons, students can construct and revise an explanation for the outcome of a simple chemical reaction based on the outermost electron states of atoms, trends in the periodic table, and knowledge of the patterns of chemical properties.
