These are a great way to teach about light, color, and rainbows.

Description

These are a great way to teach about light, color, and rainbows. Just look at a light through these Rainbow Viewers and you will be treated to a burst of colors. The secret lies in a special diffraction grating which separates the colors of the light into a spectrum of colors. Experiment by looking at different colored lights and different types of lightbulbs. Perfect for looking at holiday lights or fireworks. Made of durable cardboard, each Rainbow Viewer measures 4.3 cm (1.7") diameter. For ages 5+.

This was a great price for a fun product! My pre-K class was thrilled to see their rainbows after we had talked about the rainbow color spectrum! It was a great and special touch for this science unit!

Inexpensive way to teach wavelengths of light

I used these to teach characteristics of light to first graders. My granddaughter's teacher told me they were studying light. This is one of the few companies were you can buy a classroom set of rainbow peepholes for a reasonable price. The children were excited to discover that white light was actually composed of many colors. We also compared the colors to a rainbow. ROY G BIV. Have fun with science!
