High quality optical glass or clear plastic prisms for light experiments.

Description

EI is delighted to make available high quality prisms for light experiments. Equilateral prisms are often used for breaking up white light into a spectrum of colors (also see our diffraction gratings), while right angle prisms are generally used for measuring critical angles and observing total internal reflection such as in fiber optics. Made of optical glass or clear colorless acrylic plastic.

I have had a horrible year (health of a loved one) but one thing that makes me smile is the spectra around the kitchen when the sun hits my prism ... so I bought one for all my family members so that they might smile too.

Elementary Middle School High School

1-PS4-3

Students can use this tool to conduct an investigation of how different materials affect the path of a beam of light.

MS-PS4-2

Students can use this tool to develop and use a model to describe how waves are reflected, absorbed, or transmitted through various materials.

HS-PS4-5

Students can use this prism to conduct investigations about technological devices use the principles of wave behavior and wave interactions with matter to transmit.
