Observe this beautiful display of physics, surface tension, and geometry!

Description

This glass Bubble Timer is a beautiful display of physics, surface tension, and geometry! Just turn it over to watch the colored liquid displace the air in the bottom bulb, creating more geometric bubbles every time! Takes approximately one minute. Color may vary. About 20 cm (7.5") tall.

My grandchildren love theirs. I bought one for each of my older grandchildren. They are very interesting to watch. I often play with mine while I am grading papers. I wish there were some made of plastic for my younger grandchildren and for my class at school. Guest in my home enjoy playing with my timer too.

This timer was a great one to add to our collection Although not precise due to the nature of its "timing medium of bubbles" the students have fun watching how the duration changes with how much bubbles there are.

Perhaps I ordered this item in too much of a hurry! This is a breakable item containing a somewhat hazardous chemical. I ordered it for a three year old but the package says not for children under 12.

Interesting to watch, when it works - which is only about half the time. The blue liquid frequently stops midway through, so to use it as a timer for students is impractical. As a visual toy it's only kind of neat.

Owner Response: Sorry for the disappointment, Steven. I wonder if the neck on yours is too small. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please return it for a full refund.
